Alonso was born in Mexico City, and studied Computer Science at the Universidad Iberoamericana where he graduated with honors and earned a Master´s Degree; He has graduate studies at the Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey, Columbia Business School and the MIT.
In 2018 he joined Walmart as CIO for Mexico, where he is responsible for consolidating Walmart´s IT Function and strengthening WM´s Digital Agenda.
In November 2014, he joined PepsiCo Mexico; As CIO he was responsible for strengthening PepsiCo´s IT organization and developing Digital Solutions across the organization.
In 1997 he joined Deloitte Consulting. As Partner he was responsible for implementing business solutions, leveraging leading edge technologies, for global corporations in different industries and countries.
Alonso enjoys academic activities and is a frequent speaker in different innovation, business and technology forums. He is married, with 2 children and currently lives in Mexico City.
