Valerie is a recognized leader in the Canadian power sector. She has helped to shape the sector through her various industry appointments: current Chair of the Ontario Waterpower Association, a board member of the Canadian Wind Energy Association, and an appointee to the Ontario Power Authority Stakeholder Advisory Committee. Valerie has led some of Canada’s largest and most complex renewable power project financings and has advised extensively on project development, including several “first-of-their-kind” projects. Valerie’s project development work includes significant involvement on matters relating to aboriginal law. Her practice extends beyond domestic projects, having worked on electricity market restructurings in various countries, including South Africa, Russia and Hungary.
